Board Members are becoming more difficult to find in today’s era of increased regulation and increased risk. Fewer experienced executives are willing to devote the additional time needed today to be an effective Board member.
Boards need particular skillsets, but they also need generalists like Tom Gray with the broad business experience to ask the right probing questions at the right time.
Tom Gray has been a member of the Board of Directors for two public companies: Warwick Valley Telephone Company (NASDAQ: WWVY) and Mooney Airplane Company. He has served as chair of the budget and pension committee, chair of the strategy committee, and member of the audit committee.
Tom’s incisive questions and balanced judgment led to his being considered as the “most effective director” for one NASDAQ company.
Tom is also a member of the Advisory Board of the Concordia University College of Business.
“Tom has been very valuable on the Board. His broad background enables him to quickly focus on the important issues and potential solutions, while his interest and energy help motivate us all.” -Marnee Fieldman, Acting Dean, Concordia University College of Business
